Patient Group
PPG News
Royal Primary Care has an active Patient Participation Group made up of volunteer patients from the practice’s eight surgeries in Chesterfield, Clay Cross, Grassmoor, Inkersall, Staveley Ashgate, Holme Hall, Whittington and Brooklyn in Heanor. They meet monthly on a Thursday afternoon virtually via Teams.
The PPG provides a link between the practice and its patients, acting as a ‘critical friend’ to support improvements in care and patient experience. The group is led by patients with staff providing regular updates and information about new and future developments such as staffing, appointments and vaccination programmes.
Topics our PPG has discussed and commented on include:
Policy development - helping to provide opinions and views on behalf of patients.
Service development – consulting with the practice and supporting the assessment of medical need in our communities.
Decision making – contributing to practice decisions.
Education – advising the practice on supporting and promoting healthy lifestyle and preventative choices.
News – contributing to a regular newsletter about PPG and VPPG activities.
Patient information – helping make sure information is readily available, is clearly presented and easy to understand.
Representing patients – influencing local provision of health and social care.
Our PPG is also represented on the Chesterfield Group of PPGs where we share ideas with other GP practices in the area and discuss matters of common interest.
Membership of the PPG is free and open to all patients registered with Royal Primary Care together with surgery staff. We welcome members from all age groups, ethnic backgrounds and those with disabilities to help ensure our group truly represents our patient population.
If you are interested in joining our PPG, please fill in the "Register an Interest" form or pick up a form in one of our surgeries.
